This policy explains what information Yams Cooking ("we", "this site") collects when you visit yamscooking.com, why it is collected, and what control you have over it.

Information you give us

Two forms on this site collect personal information, and only when you choose to fill them in:

• The contact form — your name, email address and message.
• The custom diet plan form — your name, email address, and the details you provide about your goals, such as age, weight, activity level and dietary preferences.

Both are delivered to our email inbox through a third-party form service, FormSubmit. We use this information only to reply to you. We do not sell it, rent it, or add you to a mailing list without you asking.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our host records standard technical information when a page is requested: IP address, browser type, device type, the page requested, and the time. This is used for security and to understand which pages are being read. The site is hosted on Vercel.

Cookies and similar technologies

Stored on your own device

The calorie counter saves your food log and daily target in your browser's local storage so your entries are still there when you come back. This never leaves your device and we cannot read it. Clearing your browser data removes it.

Third-party cookies

Third parties may set cookies when you use this site:

• YouTube — recipe and article pages embed videos using YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), which does not set tracking cookies unless you play the video. Once you press play, YouTube's own privacy policy applies.
• Advertising — if and when advertising is shown on this site, third-party vendors including Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info/choices.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

• tell you what personal information we hold about you,
• correct anything that is wrong,
• delete it entirely.

Email yamscook@gmail.com and we will act on it. There is no charge, and you do not need to give a reason. Depending on where you live you may have further rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA; we will honour those requests regardless of where you are.

How long we keep things

Form submissions stay in our email inbox until they are no longer needed to answer you. Ask us to delete yours and we will.

Links to other sites

This site links to YouTube and occasionally to other websites. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices; read their policies separately.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Material changes will be noted on the home page.
